At your consultation, the dentist will….

  • Check the joints for disease or abnormal wear.
  • Check the lymph nodes around the mouth and neck (can indicate infections present).
  • Complete a periodontal screening – which involves checking for past or present gum disease.
  • Screen the teeth for signs of decay or wear.
  • Complete a soft tissue screen for signs of oral cancer.
  • Take X-rays to check bone levels (i) Old fillings and crowns. (ii) Signs of decay or gum disease.
  • Undertake a smile evaluation to access aesthetic/cosmetic needs/options.
